A graveside service for Anna Mae Jones, 96, of Newark, formerly Granville, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Welsh Hills Cemetery in Granville with Rev. Miriam Schreck and Rev. Tom Myers officiating. Friends are welcome to attend.

Mrs. Jones died November 12, 2007 at Arlington Care Center in Newark.  She was born May 22, 1911 to the late Samuel J. and Dora (Hankinson) Sipe.

Anna Mae was a graduate of Granville High School and was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church for over 83 years.  An avid gardener, she also enjoyed her time spent with the Ein Ar Egan Card Club.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-laws, Jo Anne Knaack of Newark, Judith and Shaw Matthews of Martinez, CA, and Elward Smith of Newark; grandchildren Kathleen Knaack and her husband, Tibor,  Daryle Knaack and his wife, Beth, Alyson Matthews and her husband, Adam Rochon, and Luana Matthews; great grandchildren, Kieran, Christian, and Anna Baukal; sisters, Alberta Ickes of Granville, Alyce Copas of Heath, Ruth Sipe of Newark, and Helen Marriott of Newark; and many special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Louis Edward Jones, who died April 3, 1965; daughter, Joyce Smith; sisters Adaline Foster, Thelma Jones, and Phyllis Brookbank; and one brother, W. David Sipe.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Granville Meals on Wheels, 102 East Broadway, Granville, OH  43023.
