Anne K. Jeffrey Robinson

A memorial service celebrating the life of Anne Kilbourne Jeffrey Robinson (Mrs. Jefferson D. Robinson, III), will be held at The Church of The Holy Spirit, Harcourt Parish, Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00 am. The Rev. Helen Svoboda-Barber and The Rev. Stephen Applegate (rector of St. Luke's, Granville) will officiate. Burial will follow at the College Cemetery. Mrs. Robinson died September 2, 2013 at Kendal at Granville, in Granville, Ohio.

Anne was born June 10, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Virginia (Bonney) and Joseph Andrew Jeffrey. She attended Ashley Hall in Charleston, S.C., and graduated from The Gill School for Girls, Bernardsville, N.J. She graduated from Endicott Junior College in Beverly, Ma. where she majored in photography.

Annie was devoted to her friends and family, near and far. Volunteering actively with the Junior Leagues of Columbus, Syracuse, and Toledo, she had a passion for quietly helping others, especially in education. Annie was an active, involved, and contributing member of The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. Undoubtedly, her most favorite activity was partnering with her husband Jeff in his role as The Director of Alumni at Kenyon College. Together they traveled across the United States meeting with and engaging many graduates of his alma mater. She was the ultimate hostess.

Married for 62 years, Anne's husband Jeff died in August 2011. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Christine (Trina) Robinson Secor and James Jay Secor, III of Knoxville, Tennessee and Perrysburg, Ohio, sons and daughters-in-law, Jefferson Davis Robinson IV and Carolyn B. Robinson of Portsmouth, VA and The Rev. Canon Mark Kilbourne Jeffrey Robinson and Eleanor Perkins Robinson of Old Lyme, Connecticut; grandchildren, Virginia Secor Shaw, Jay Ketcham Miller Secor, Caroline Secor Masterson, Christine Mueller Robinson, Jefferson Davis Robinson V, Sewell Standish Robinson, Frances Gamble Robinson and Florence Kilbourne Robinson; great grandchildren, Harry Alexander Shaw V, Celia Phelps Shaw, James Secor Halvorsen Shaw, Sarah Ketcham Secor, Jay Hutchins Masterson, and Frederick Secor Masterson; also surviving are her brothers and sisters-in law, Joseph Andrew Jeffrey Jr. (Anne Gibson) and David Lawrence Kilbourne Jeffrey (Hope Heisey); sister, Joan Jeffrey Insley died in 2000.
