A memorial service for Anne B. Warner, 86, of Granville, will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Farmingville, New York, with Father Dan Picciano officiating. Burial will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
Anne, beloved mother and grandmother, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Grant Medical Hospital in Columbus. She was born July 9, 1923 in New York City to the late Joseph and Suzie (Ondrajko) Bereghazy.
A breast cancer survivor, Anne was a fighter. Her determination brought about various opportunities for children such as the swimming program in ARC. She never considered herself 'old' but rather 'mature'. Her independence and sense of humor was admired and loved by many.
An avid reader, Anne also enjoyed cooking and tending to her flower gardens, especially her Japanese garden. Her family was of most importance as she loved the holidays and adored her grandchildren.
Anne was an active member of The Church of St. Edward the Confessor. She felt it was important to give back to the community whether volunteering at the Granville Museum, delivering Meals on Wheels, or assisting the elderly.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra A. Warner, Susan and Christopher Egan, and Sharon and Robert Murphy; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael H. and Rosemary Warner, and Mark J.T. Warner; grandchildren, Christopher M. Egan, Joseph W. Egan, Madeline Rose Egan, Robert M. Murphy, Meaghan A. Murphy, Andrew J. Murphy, Michelle Warner, and Shannon Warner; great grandchildren, Alyssa Merritt, Gervanna Warner, and Anellie Warner; sister, Emily Krizan of Kent, Connecticut; niece, Barbara Slocum; and nephews, William and Jeffrey Krizan.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George H. Warner, who died January 3, 1996; and one brother.
