Arthur B. Lowell

A memorial service celebrating the life of Arthur B. Lowell, 51, of Granville will be held 7:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, Granville with Rev. Thom Lamb officiating. Entombment will be at St. Charles Memorial Gardens in Missouri. There will be an additional memorial service at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011 at St. Charles Presbyterian Church, 131 Gamble St., St. Charles, Missouri assisted by Baue Funeral Home.

Art died Monday, May 30, 2011 as a result of injuries sustained from a car accident. He was born January 21, 1960 in St. Louis, MO to Arthur H. and the late Mary Lou (Breed) Lowell.

A 1982 graduate of Vanderbilt University, Art received his B.S. in Engineering and completed his M.B.A at Case Western Reserve in 2006. He began his Engineering career with McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis working on the Tomahawk Cruise Missile guidance systems and later more recently worked as a leader of the transition team standing up BT&E within the Boeing Company. It was his mission and goal to ensure troop safety.Art was an avid reader, loved music, and was a train enthusiast. As an Eagle Scout, scouting was central in his life and something he passionately shared with his sons. He especially enjoyed his trips to Philmont Boy Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sharon "Sam" K. (Rooney) Lowell of Granville; sons, Brendan and Dillon Lowell of Granville; brother, David Charles Lowell of Crestwood, MO; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Colin Bachinsky of Scottsdale, AZ; and father and mother-in-law, Robert H. and Edna M. Rooney of St. Charles, Mo.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the McPEEK-HOEKSTRA FUNERAL HOME, 133 S. Prospect St.,Granville. Visit www.mcpeekhoekstra.com to ensure family receipt of online condolences.
