Auston G. Laymon

April 18, 1992 — May 23, 2010

A funeral service celebrating the life of Auston, "Auzzy" G. Laymon, 18, of Granville, will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2010  at The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark Granville Road with the Rev. Karen J. Chakoian officiating and Monsignor Paul P. Enke assisting.  Burial will follow in Linnville Cemetery.

Auston, a junior at Granville High School, died early Sunday morning, following injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.  He was born April 18, 1992 to Jay A. Laymon and Monique (Simpson) Pinkerton.

Auston will be remembered by his family for his quiet gentle nature, his compassion for others, his love of life and his ability to see the positive in most situations.  He would find a way to make any task/job fun. Auston will be remembered by his friends for his loyal friendship, his humor, and his love of competition.

He truly loved sports and the fun of competition; always doing his best to win. He played varsity football and baseball; was an excellent basketball player. He had a strong bond of admiration and friendship with his teammates. He was a competitor.

Auston shared close family bonds, especially with his older brother, Preston, who he had been visiting the night before the accident.  Theirs was truly a unique friendship.

He was truly a fine young man who was destined to excel in life.  Those of us who knew him should feel

honored. He is gone, but will forever live on in our memories. Rest in peace Auston, knowing everyone you left behind Loves you.

He is survived by his mother, Monique and Richard Pinkerton of Granville; father, Jay A. Laymon of Newark; brother, Preston T. Laymon and his fiancAC., Bri Lohrman, both of Newark; maternal grandmother, Martha A. Romine and her husband, Robert, of Newark; maternal grandfather, John F. Simpson and his wife, Joann; paternal grandparents, Richard and Shirley Laymon of Newark; nephew, Maddox Laymon; several aunts and uncles; and his loyal Golden Retriever dog, Fudge.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church.
