Barbara Nell Canter

A funeral service celebrating the life of Barbara N. (Barber) Vaia Canter, age 76, of Alexandria, will be held at 10:30 a.m.Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville with Pastor Bob Long officiating. Burial will follow at the Fredonia Cemetery.

Barb passed away Monday, May 16th, 2011. She was born April 8, 1935 to the late C. Jean (Ressler) and Raymond Barber.

Barb was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas, was an avid golfer, a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, Granville Historical Society and Granville High School class of 1953.

She is survived by her sister Linda L. Harmon of Alexandria; step-brother, Rick and Carol Scott of Florida; step-sister, Barb Rivera of Florida; children, Cheryl Vaia & Herb Bresler of Bexley, Mike Vaia of Maryland, John Vaia of Montana, Annie & Matthew Cacciato of Granville; grandchildren, Reuben and Marika Bresler, and Nicole, Grace, and Josephine Cacciato.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Merlin Scott.
