A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernice A. Ciricosta, 75, of Granville, will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Granville with Monsignor Paul P. Enke officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.
Mrs. Ciricosta, who retired in 1995 as a teacher at Granville Elementary School where she had taught 27 years, died Saturday at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark. She was born October 29, 1932 in Meadville, PA to the late Richard and Helen (Budasky) Cervone.
Mrs. Ciricosta received her B.S. in Nursing from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA; B.S. in Education from Lake Erie College, Painesville; and M.A. from The Ohio State University. She was a former nursing arts instructor at the Spencer Hospital School of Nursing, Meadville, PA and was a former elementary school teacher in the Munson Elementary School, Chardon, and the Woodside Elementary School, Newark.
Mrs. Ciricosta was a member of Saint Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, the Granville Teacher Emeritus and was a life member of The Ohio State University Alumni.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Joseph F. Ciricosta, whom she married August 10, 1957; daughter, Beverly A. Ciricosta of North Canton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Celine Cervone of Blue Belle, PA and Tom and Marie Cervone of Evansville, IN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline and Charles Kindervater of Bradford, PA. and Marilyn and Rick Richards of Bradford, PA.
