Betty Jane Hocker

Betty Jane (Hemmerly) Hocker, 91, formerly of Galion, died on March 10 in Columbus, Ohio.

Mrs. Hocker had retired from the Galion City Schools where she was a cook. She was a Past Matron of Eastern Star and a member of Waves International.

She was a U.S. Navy WAVE who served during World War II in Washington, D.C., Hawaii, and Chicago.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Gregory) Swary of Columbus, and son, David Hocker of Houston, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by husband of 63 years, William A. Hocker; sister, Shirley Hemmerly Beeching, and parents, Franklin Thomas and Josephine (Bode) Hemmerly.
