Betty F. Koenig

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Betty F. Koenig, 79, of Granville, at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 1, 2016 at The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark Granville Rd., Granville with Msgr. Paul P. Enke as celebrant. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.

Betty passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at her home. She was born in 1937 in Long Beach, California to the late Tamotu and Toshiko (Nakamoto) Fugikawa.

An artist and mathematics teacher by training, Betty shared her love of art and children through countless hours in the community enriching many lives through her silhouettes, origami, paper crafts, and artwork. She was an avid supporter of athletics and the performing arts.

Surviving are her husband of 52 years, John L. Koenig; ten children and their spouses; 20 grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S.
