Betty was born July 23, 1924 in Newark to the late William and Myrtle Petry Francis. She passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 at her home.
After graduating from OSU in Nursing, Betty pursued her nursing career at Lazarus in Columbus then later at the Otterbein College clinic in Westerville. After marrying her husband, Dale, in 1948, they resided in Westerville for 42 years before moving back to Newark 15 years ago.

She enjoyed reading and loved sharing her books with friends. Betty was an avid ornithologist, shell-seeker on Sanibel Island, bridge player, and animal lover. She was also the family historian tracing back to two family descendants who signed the Declaration of Independence.
Betty immensely enjoyed the company of her husband, son, grandchildren, and sister. She was considered a great friend to many as she was always interested in what others had to say.
