Burley C. Mallow

A private graveside service for Burley C. Mallow, 89, of Mount Vernon, will be held in Wilson Cemetery in Newark with the Rev. Stephen J. Cramer officiating.
Mr. Mallow, a retired meat cutter at Sargent's Market in Granville, died Sept. 1, 2007 at the Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon. He was born June 10, 1918, in Harmon, WV to the late Susan (Simmons) and Isaac Newton Mallow.
Burley was a graduate of Homer High School. During WWII he served in the U.S. Army Infantry in the European Theatre. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Frances (Brown) Mallow; sister-in law, Margaret Brown Miskimen of Mt. Vernon; nieces Sally Simpson Johnson of Granville and Lady Lake, FL., and Margie C. Gerczak of Livonia, Michigan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.
The McPeek Funeral Home in Granville is assisting the family with arrangements.
