A funeral service celebrating the life of Carol Schilling, 83, of Newark, formerly of Granville, will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. at the McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St, in Granville with Rev. William Koppert as celebrant. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service.
Carol died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Chapel Grove Inn in Heath. She was born December 26, 1929 in Granville to the late Roe and Loreta (Hammond) Kasson.
A graduate of Granville High School, Carol was a homemaker who also worked for many years at Westinghouse, Newark City Schools, and later retired from the State of Ohio. She was a member of Newark First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband of sixty years, Robert Schilling of Newark; daughter, Patricia (Mark) Owens of Cincinnati; beloved grandchildren, Christina of Canal Winchester, and Stephen of Cincinnati; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred and Evelyn Schilling of Newark; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Sheldon Kasson.
