Catherine Ann Dickinson

A funeral service celebrating the life of Catherine "Ann" Dickinson, 89, of Heath, formerly Granville, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., in Granville with Rev. Bob Long as celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.

Ann died Friday, May 22, 2015 at Chapel Grove in Heath. She was born in Minneapolis in 1925. She was later adopted and raised by her loving parents, the late Hugh Owen and Ada (Chrysler) Williams.

After graduating salutatorian in her high school class, Ann decided to further her education in healthcare as an x-ray technician. She relocated to Granville where her aunt and uncle helped her secure a job. She then met her future husband, John, at the Buckeye Lake Roller Rink upon his return from the Navy. Together they raised their family in Granville while Ann worked as a secretary and later as a typesetter at the Granville Letter Shop. She loved reading and knitting and could often be heard playing the piano or organ.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Thomas and Kathleen Dickinson of West Milton, OH, Diana and Ray DePascale of Heath, and Jeanne and James Singleton of Bedford, VA; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John R. Dickinson, II; son, John R. Dickinson, III; and one grandson.
