Charles G Taylor, Jr

The family of Charles G. "Mike" Taylor, Jr., 78, of Granville, will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at McPeek Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville.

Mike passed away Monday, October 27, 2008 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. He was born January 24, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles G., III and Mildred (Miller) Taylor.

A 1948 graduate of Bay Village High School, Mike, furthered his education at the University of new Mexico and The Ohio State University. He was self employed as a certified public accountant.

Civic minded, Mr. Taylor was a member of the Centerville Council where he served as vice mayor. Additionally, he served as Washington Township Clerk Treasurer and as president of the Centerville Washington Township Park Board. He was a member of the Centerville Kiwanis Club and The Ohio State University Alumni Board. He was a Buckeye fan, football enthusiast, skier, and avid golfer.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia A. (Ress) Taylor, whom he married March 6, 1953; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles G., V and Barbara Taylor, of Pickerington and Steven S. and Rosemary Taylor, of Worcester, MA; daughter and son-in-law, Judith M. and Walter Preston of Granville; grandchildren, Lacy and Corey Taylor.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother, William Taylor.
