A private service will be held for Christine E. Blaha of Pataskala. Christine passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 after an extended illness. She was born June 28, 1943 in Munich, Germany to the late Karl Berger and Maria Reese.
Christine was employed by The Children's Clinic of Munich and Memmingen, Germany as a registered pediatric nurse. A homemaker, she was a person of strong determination and will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend. Christine was an exceptional international cook and loved to create meals true to her German heritage. Her green thumb allowed her to enjoy gardening, especially growing orchids. She was also a member of the Columbus Mannechor. Christine Elizabeth Blaha received the honorable title of Kentucky colonel.
Christine leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Rene V. Blaha, M.D., son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. and Jill E. Blaha; daughters, Silvia C. Blaha and Vivette L. Blaha; grandchildren, Michael, Connor, Christl, Reese, and Kennedy; brothers and sister-in-law, Rudolf and Marlis Reese, Franzl Reese, and Carl Reese, all of Germany; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her brother, Eric and sister, Anita.
