Clarke Berdan II was born January 18, 1953, to the late Clarke Berdan and the late Virginia Menke. Clarke married Karen in California on June 27, 1976. The couple met as students at the University of California, Berkeley. Clarke was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. He passed away on November 16, 2024, just one week after Karen’s passing.
He retired from Owens Corning as a chemical engineer after 40 years. During his time at Owens Corning, he formed many friendships and his research resulted in many U.S. patents. He served on the Granville School Board for 2 terms and also supported many school fundraising efforts. Outside of work and service, he enjoyed playing tennis, playing platform tennis, and skiing.
He is survived by his daughters Louise (Craig Chan), Kristi (Collin Masters), and Chloe (Andy Plummer). Also living are his brothers Brian (Susan), Brady (Yaara), Randall (Kathy), and several nieces and nephews. He joins his late brother Brooks. Six beloved grandchildren survive: Piper, Finn, Paige, Carter, Lilia, and Sophie.
He will be dearly missed by his family. A memorial gathering for both Karen and Clarke Berdan will be held from 4-6pm Friday, November 22, 2024, at the McPeek Hoekstra Hoskinson Funeral Home 133 S. Prospect St, Granville 43023. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the
