A memorial service celebrating the life of Connie J. Westbrook, 74, of Granville, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, in Granville with Rev. Stephen J. Cramer and Rev. Bob Long as co-celebrants. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. in Shepherd Hall at the church. Private burial will be held at Ashley Union Cemetery.
Connie, a retired claims adjuster from State Farm Insurance Company, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born to the late Charles E. and Alice Pauline T. (Taylor) Westbrook.
A lifelong resident of Granville, Connie graduated from Granville High School in 1959 and furthered her education at Ohio University. After retiring from a 37 year career with State Farm, Connie became more active with her church in the role of Administrative Manager at Centenary United Methodist Church. She devoted her time and talent serving the Lord, helping others, singing in the church choir and Vintage Voices. She enjoyed golf, traveling the world extensively, and playing tennis, previously holding the title of Licking County Women’s Champion.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Connie S. (Welch) Westbrook of Newark; and nephews and their spouses, Michael R. and Christine Westbrook, and Brian C. and Christy Westbrook, all of Newark.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Robert T. “Bob” Westbrook, who died in 2014.
