David L. Mcdaniel
October 16, 1938 — June 16, 2015
A memorial mass will be held for David L. McDaniel, 76, of Newark, formerly of Granville, at 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 26, 2015 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Newark with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest, as celebrant. A private graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.
Retired Superintendent of Roads for Granville Township, David died June 16, 2015 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Highwater, Ohio in 1938 to the late Welling A. and Ruby V. McDaniel.
Farming, trips to Las Vegas, firefighting, and haircutting were a few of Dave's undertakings that kept him busy. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, HiLo Farm Council, and Newark Elks. He enjoyed traveling, tinkering on old cars, and spending time with grandchildren, family, and friends. He will be remembered as a loyal, generous, and cheerful person.
Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew D. and Janna McDaniel of Medina, OH, Jeffrey A. and Nina McDaniel of Jacksonville, FL, and Gregory J. and Shelli McDaniel of Frazeysburg; grandchildren, Bradley, Kathleen, Madelyn, Lillian, Sophia, David, and Georgia; and great grandson, Rutledge.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his wife Carol, who died in 2006.
