Donald W. Mantor

January 29, 1938 — May 8, 2015

Donald William Mantor, 77, passed into our Father's arms suddenly, May 8, 2015 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. He was born in Berlin Twp., Delaware, Ohio to the late William A. and Mary L. (McCain) Mantor on January 29, 1938.

After 30 years, Don retired from Upper Arlington Schools as Director of Transportation. His expertise and professionalism allowed him to continue his work as a driver for celebrities including the B52's, Bobby Flay and the Food Network, and many others. In addition to his career, Don enjoyed wildlife and a variety of animals that included emu and rheas that he cared for on his two small farms.

Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Diane; daughters, Terry Sue (Robert Cooper), Debbie Brown (Joel Williams), and Vickie Damron (Phil Traylor) all of Columbus, Kimberly Kay (Timothy Hayden) of Dunlap, IL and Rebecca Ann (Frederick Still, Jr) of Urbana, OH; grandchildren, Justin, Meagan, Ryan, Roy, Russell, David, Frank, Joshua, Ian, and Wyatt; several great grandchildren; and sister, Jane Mantor of Ellenton, FL.

Don's wishes included participation in the research program at The Ohio State University, Division of Anatomy with no additional services. He firmly believed, "the acquisition of life is memories... that's really all we have".
