She was employed at City National Bank before embarking on her life-time career as a wife and mother.

Gardening, sewing, playing the piano, and the arts were a few of Doris’ favorite activities. She was member of St. Luke’s Church where she served on the Altar Guild and with the coffee hour. Most importantly, Doris will be remembered as strong and resilient woman who was supportive and offered unconditional love to her family.

Surviving are her children, Geoffrey Mavis and Vicki and Alan Brown; grandchildren and their spouses, James and Nicole Mavis, Rachael and Shane Smith, Geoff and Jennifer Brown, and Katie and Ryan Parnell; great grandchildren, Ian and Isaac Mavis, Dale Smith, and Mason and Lucy Brown.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Stephen F.O. Mavis; and her daughter-in-law, Sharon Mavis.
