Doris Elaine Pansius passed away on March 16, 2010 in Newark, Ohio of congestive heart failure. Services for Doris will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 24, at the Presbyterian Church in Granville, Ohio.
Doris was born July 7, 1925 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Leland and Germaine Swart. A graduate of Cornell University, she was married to Bill Pansius for almost sixty wonderful years until Bill's death in 2005. She is survived by her brother Jack Swart and her sons Jonathan and David Pansius.
Doris was best known for her creativity and extraordinary taste. Over the years she worked with interior decorators in Connecticut and Ohio, including the Newark Furniture Store, helping people with their dreams. Doris devised innovative floor plans; every house that she designed became a community favorite. Everyone enjoyed her creativity in interior decorating and gardening wherever she lived. Her first reaction upon entering a room was to devise some way to redecorate it! No doubt she is now pointing out structural modifications that the saints themselves had not thought of.
A member and leader of the Granville Garden Club, Jyesta, Granville Tennis Club and several other organizations, Doris shared her time, efforts and ideas throughout the community. She had a wide circle of friends in Ohio, Arizona and Carolina. They will miss her generosity and good humor.
It is requested that donations to your local hospice organization, a scholarship fund or other community organization be made in Doris' name in lieu of flowers.
