A funeral service for Earl Wayne Wrightsel, 53, of Tyrone, Georgia, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at McPeek Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect Street, Granville with the Rev. Fred Ketner officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster.
Earl died Sept. 30, 2007 at Griffin Spaulding Healthcare in Griffin, GA.. He was born October 29, 1953 in Columbus, to the Rev. Kenneth E. and Juanita (Gray) Wrightsel of The Otterbein Home, Lebanon.
Mr. Wrightsel was an auto mechanic employed by Coca-Cola Company. As a former Ford Motor Co. Factory Representative, Earl worked with John DeLorian and serviced the DeLorian Automobile. An avid outdoorsman, he loved boating, hunting, fishing, camping, and working on cars. Earl was also a Member of the Lions Club in Georgia.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters Esther Wrightsel (Dale Lobeck) of Newark, Nadine (George) Sparks Delaware; nieces Jennifer (Doug) Clay of Hilliard, Desiree (Chris) McCallips of Durand, Il., Deven Wrightsel of Granville, Deanna (David) Jackson of Delaware; nephew Jason McDougle of Delaware; 4 great-nieces, 1 great-nephew; best friend Susan Davis of Tyrone, GA; his faithful companion "Happy", and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the McPeek Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St. in Granville.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be in the form of floral tributes, sent to the funeral home.
