Edgar A. Sheffler, D.D.S., LT J.G. Navy veteran and graduate of Wooster College and Case Western Reserve passed away May 25, 2021 at his home in Fredonia surrounded by family. He was 92.
Born in Canton, Ohio to the late Arvine and Maizie Vickers Sheffler, Ed arrived in Granville in 1955 after discharge from the Navy.
Dr. Sheffler practiced dentistry for 40 years and was a member of the American Dental Association, 20/30 Club, and Granville Tennis Club. Ed was also an ardent birder earning the title Master Birder with over 1000 species.
Civically, Ed volunteered with the Peace Corp, Salvation Army, Hospice, Meals on Wheels, United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and was an Eagle Scout Leader. He will be remembered as a man of adventure and giving. Ed made the world a better place.
Surviving are his children and their spouses, Jeffrey (Barbara) Sheffler, Vicki (Jeff) Lammers, Ann (Rich) Cherry, and Brigitte (Joe) Sheffler; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Beverly Sheffler Ashbrook; and two nephews.
