A Funeral Mass for Edward Andrew Nagy, age 88, of Granville, formerly of Troy, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, at the Church of St. Edward the Confessor with Father Timothy Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville, where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Friends may call from 9:30-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church, 785 Newark Granville Road in Granville.
Edward was born February 9, 1936 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Andrew and Mary Nagy. He passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Otterbein Granville Senior Living.
Ed was a graduate of the University of Akron and faithfully served his country in the United States Army. He retired after 28 years of employment from Schindler Elevator Corp. Ed was a member of the Church of St. Edward the Confessor and enjoyed the internet, flying as a licensed pilot, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mariann Joan (Kostka) Nagy, whom he married May 11, 1968; and by son, Greg (Linda) Nagy of Columbus; daughter, Beth (Doug) Spieles of Granville; grandchildren, Coraline Nagy, Claire Nagy, Jackie Spieles, and Adam Spieles; his twin sister, Edna (Jim) Dierker; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Nagy; and five sisters, Ann Clark, Caroline Rauch, Mary Kopco, Eleanor Stetz, and Frances Kosuth.
