A memorial gathering celebrating the life of Eleanor M. McClow, 95, of Granville, formerly of Fort Myers, Florida and Toledo, Ohio will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2010 at Kendal at Granville, 2158 Columbus Road, Granville. A private graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.
Eleanor died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Kendal at Granville. She was born in Tiffin, Ohio September 16, 1914 to the late Otto C. and Ethel (Weaver) Wingart.
After marrying the late Wayne W. McClow, March 31, 1940, in Toledo, Eleanor lived in many cities due to Wayne's work as an engineer. After World War II they returned to Toledo and raised their family. Eleanor enjoyed gardening, was active in community theatre, and was an avid reader. She later attended the University of Toledo and was employed by Richland Furs as a model and promoter of furrier style shows. She will most fondly be remembered for her intelligence, poise, and consideration of others.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Lyle and Barbara McClow of Granville; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Eric Marshall of East Windsor, NJ; grandchildren, Wayne, Laura, Carolyn, and Jeffrey (Jennifer); great grandchildren, Trent, Sean, Christopher, and Nicole.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eleanor was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanne; two brothers, Emil and Paul and one sister, Edith.
