A private graveside service for Frances Jones McPeek, 91, of Granville, was held in Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville with the Rev. Stephen J. Cramer officiating.
Mrs. McPeek, who retired in 1986 as a receptionist in Curtis East Hall at Denison University, died Wed., May 9, 2007, under the loving care of Hospice of Central Ohio at Newark Health Care Center. She was born Mar. 1, 1916, in Granville to the late Maggie (Holler) and Halcy Jones.
Frances was a 1934 graduate of Granville High School and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Granville. For many years following her retirement, she was an active member of the Denison Retirees Association.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Dennis Moore of Jupiter, Fla., and Kimberley and Richard Downs of Granville; daughter-in-law, Deborah McPeek of Granville; grandchildren, Brian Moore and his wife, Kathlyn, Matthew McPeek, Kevin McPeek and his wife, Kathleen, Nathan Downs and his fiancAC., Jaclyn Reeser, and Will Downs; great-grandsons, Justin, Kyle, Brandon, Benjamin, and Edison; several nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Jessi Myers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. McPeek, who died June 28, 1983, and her son, J. Rodney McPeek, who died Oct. 29, 2005.
