A Celebration of Life will be held for Frances Oliver Bellman, 68, of Granville, on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, in Granville, Ohio with Rev. Karen J. Chakoian as celebrant.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., in Granville.

Fran, a remarkable young woman who won in life every day she continued to live with her cancer, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 18, 2017 surrounded by loving family.  She was born in Willard, OH to the late Jack S. and Mildred M. Oliver.

A 1973 graduate of The Ohio State University, Fran retired in 2010 after 35 years of teaching kindergarten and first grade at the French Run Elementary in the Reynoldsburg City School District.  Over the years, Fran remained a loyal friend to her French Run colleagues, and to her endearing church group named the “Rowers”.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Granville where she served as Deacon and Stephen Minister.  Fran was also an active member of P.E.O., Chapter AB, in Granville.

Fran was a kind, loving and vibrant individual whose treasured smile was a ray of sunshine that would light up the room.  She will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Surviving are her husband, Daniel Bellman of Granville; daughter and son-in-law, Molly and Joe Ewart of Mt. Vernon; sister, Sandra J. Jump of Newark; nephews and their spouses, Jonathan D. and Michelle Jump of Columbus, and Benjamin N. and Brett Jump of Granville; great nieces and nephews, Olivia and Abigail Jump of Columbus, and Davidson and Isabella Jump of Granville, and canine companion, “Posey”.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Fran’s memory may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, Granville, Ohio 43023; Pelotonia “Team Granville”; or Hospice of Central Ohio Foundation, P.O. Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
