Frank Patrick Lynch, Jr

A memorial service for Frank "Pat" Lynch, Jr., 78, of Granville, will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at McPeek Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect Street, Granville, with the Rev. Elaine Prince officiating.

Pat died Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born August 26, 1930, in Barnesville, Ohio, to the late Frank P. and Grace Lily (Phillips) Lynch.

After serving in Korea with the Army Corps of Engineers, Pat enrolled at The Ohio State University and earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in education. He retired in 1992 as the State Coordinator of the Ohio Operating Engineers Apprenticeship Program.

Pat was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Granville Post of the American Legion, I.U.O.E, and Centenary United Methodist Church.

A devoted father and grandfather, Pat enjoyed camping at Wolf Creek with his family, long bike rides, and walking the family dogs. He will fondly be remembered for his ability to fix anything and his collection of "junk" that might be needed for repairs at a later date.

Surviving are his wife Beverly A. (Bailey) Lynch, whom he married February 2, 1952; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Linda Lynch of Granville, and Bob and Patty Lynch of Springfield, MO; daughter and son-in-law, Bet and Steve Brown of Granville; grandchildren, Courtney, Patrick, Alyssa, Rob, Michael, and Tommy; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Sheryl Lynch of Henderson, Nevada; brother-in-law John Hardwick; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Pat, was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Lin Lynch; brothers, Jack, Bob, and Dick; and one sister, Dot.
