Franklin "Frank" Earl Williams

A funeral service celebrating the life of Franklin "Frank" Earl Williams, 84, of Granville will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., in Granville with Rev. Stephen J. Cramer officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Frank, a retired supervisor of building maintenance at Denison University for over 44 years, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newark. He was born August 10, 1929 in Granville to the late Raymond Earl Williams and Olive (Codington) Williams McKenzie.

A 1947 Granville High School graduate, Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Frank thoroughly enjoyed collecting and restoring cars and building model cars. Next to his family, his greatest pride and joy was his 1936 Ford Cabriolet.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Gwendolyn (Rector) Williams of Granville; son, Rodney Earl (Kathia) Williams of Granville; step-grandchildren, Kristopher (Nicole) Stout and Kourtney Stout both of Newark; great grandchildren, Konner, Skye, Dravin, Kirsten, Kyah, Silas, Sybil, and Sayj; half-brother, Ronald (Mary Kay) McKenzie of Heath; cousin, Letti (Roger) Pluckett of Pauline, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Joseph McKenzie.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 14, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
