Gordon Henry Condit
March 24, 1923 — October 4, 2009
At his own request, there will be no funeral or memorial service for Gordon Henry Condit. Gordon died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Northview Senior Care Center in Johnstown. He was born March 24, 1923 in Orange, New Jersey to the late Henry Long Condit and Ruth Conner Hance Condit.
Gordon earned degrees from Denison University and Case Western Reserve University. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, participating in the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
An author of several plays and short stories, Gordon retired in 1986 from Denison University as Associate Director of Admissions.
In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by two brothers, Merrell E. and Norman I. Condit and one sister, Harriet A. Condit.
