Gordon Kildow Bolon, Ii

June 24, 1927 — April 26, 2009

A celebration of life service for Gordon Kildow Bolon, II, 81, of Granville, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Swasey Chapel on the campus of Denison University in Granville, Ohio. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Gordon passed away peacefully Sunday, April 26, 2009, at his home. He was born June 24, 1927 in Wheeling, W.VA to the late Gordon K. and Helen (Davidson) Bolon.

After graduating with the class of 1945 at Bexley High School, Gordon served his country in Guam in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He returned to attend The Ohio State University and later graduated from the College of Law.

Gordon was admitted to the bar in 1953 and practiced law in Columbus where he became well respected. He will be remembered for his honesty, ethics, and as a tough lawyer with many accomplishments as a trial lawyer. Additionally, he was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America and the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Gordon was a member of the American Trial Lawyers Assoc., Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, Foundation of the American Board of Trial Advocates, Columbus Bar Foundation, and the Ohio State Bar Assoc. He was a member and past president of the River Ridge Riding Club and Dublin Kiwanis, where he helped to originate the Dublin Frog Jump.

Being a Buckeye fan, Gordon enjoyed going to the games and was a member of the O.S.U. Alumni Assoc. Prior to entering law school, his love for music and dancing inspired him to form the "Chic Kildow Band". He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, Toni Sue, to many countries and all the states during their 21 years together. Gordon will be remembered as a devoted husband and a proud and loving father. He will be missed by many.

Surviving are his loving wife, Toni Sue; son, Gordon K. (Crystal) Bolon, III of Columbus; daughters, Debbie (Russell) Leverenz of California, Jennifer Bolon of Columbus; step-son, Scott (Charlene) Huffer of Greenfield, OH; step-daughter, Sunday (Tracy) Cole of Canton, OH; grandchildren, Jarrod and Evan Blotner, Tessa Bolon, Jacob and Bryce Huffer, and J.T. Cole; great-grandson, Anthony Huffer; brother, Thomas M. (Mary Jane) Bolon of Columbus; mother-in-law, Louise DeLaughder of Granville; brother-in-law, Jim (Delores) Day of Buckeye Lake; nieces, Barbara (Steve) Sahm, Dr. Rebecca (David) Bolon-Padrick, Beth Lawrence, Sarah (John) Shumway; Amy Adornetto, and Laura Day; nephews, Tom (Laura) Bolon, Jr. and David (Jill) Bolon; special cousin Sophie Hartley; and many great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by his brothers, Dr. Charles G. Bolon and David G. Bolon.
