A memorial service celebrating the life of Gregory W. Miller of Pataskala will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville with Rev. Larry R. Kudart as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to the memorial service. Greg, a chemical engineer for Zyvex Technologies, died unexpectedly Monday, April 29, 2013 in Columbus. The son of the late Sylvester and Florence (Carter) Miller passed at the early age of 57.
A member of Mensa, Greg received a B.S. in Chemistry and a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering at The Ohio State University.
Greg, a great outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and camping. Of quiet nature, he appeared unassuming until you got to know him. He was quite the history buff and amused many with his ability to quote old movies, specifically westerns. Greg was a kind, generous man who put the needs of others first and frequently offered a helping hand. He will be remembered as an exceptionally loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Karen Edwards Miller; son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Amy Edwards; son, Ian Miller; grandchildren, Jaylin and Makaylah Edwards all of Pataskala; sister, Edna (Sonnie) Cox of CA; brothers-in-law, Danny (Kim) Finnerty of Cardington and Ron Finnerty of Columbus; sister-in-law, Linda Finnerty of FL; and mother and father-in-law, Virginia and Kenneth Finnerty of Groveport.
