Gretchen D. Dubbe

January 9, 1961 — February 26, 2010

A Celebration of Life Service for Gretchen D. Dubbe, 49, of Granville, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville with Rev. Stephen J. Cramer officiating.  Family will receive friends prior the service from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in Shepherd Hall during a Social Gathering.  A tribute get-together will follow the service to celebrate Gretchen's life.  A private graveside service will be held on Thursday.

Gretchen, loving wife, mother and friend, passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of Friday, February 26, 2010 after a 13 year ongoing battle with cancer.  She was born Jan. 9, 1961 in Kansas City, MO to Dolores (Kreissler) and the late Rev. Daniel Fuelling.

Gretchen earned her degree in Elementary Education at the University of Minnesota and taught for many years in Minnesota and Oklahoma, and then has taught for the last 11 years as a substitute teacher in the Granville school system.   A member of Centenary United Methodist and a daughter of a Lutheran minister, Gretchen was very active and devout in her faith.  She had a love for horses and knitting, and enjoyed sharing her time and talents with others.  A beautiful, courageous woman, who embraced life and touched the lives of so many, will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Kent E. Dubbe of Granville; daughters, Brittan and Hannah Dubbe of Granville; son, Grant Dubbe of Granville; brother, Peter Fuelling of St. Paul, Minnesota.; and sister, Mary Fuelling of Glenwood, Minnesota.

Arrangements are in the care of McPEEK-HOEKSTRA FUNERAL HOME in Granville.  Online condolences or stories shared of Gretchen may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com or www.caringbridge.org/visit/GretchenDubbe.
