Harold Lamb July 4, 1912 - Sept. 7, 2007
A memorial service for Harold Lamb, 95, of Newark, formerly Hebron, will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007 at the McPeek Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect, Granville with the Rev. Wayne A. Zavotka officiating.
Mr. Lamb died Sept. 7, 2007 at Newark Healthcare Centre. He was born July 4, 1912, in Mount Vernon to the late Robert and Opal (Strong) Lamb.
Harold retired from B & L Motor Freight after 44 years and over a million accident free miles.
He loved the Old West and Indian artifacts. At the age of 14, Harold was an authentic cowboy leaving home to work on Wyoming ranches. He especially enjoyed panning for gold.
Surviving are his daughters, Marion LoCurto and Valarie Lovell both of Newark; son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Ann Lamb of San Leandro, CA; step-sons and wife, Tom Hardison of Granville and Rodger and Val Hardison of Georgetown, CA; step-daughter Hazel Sherod of Odessa, MN; brother John Lamb of Fredericktown; sister Mary Ogle of Mansfield; brothers and sisters-in-law Russell and Viola Lamb of Fredericktown, Charles and Catherine Lamb of Worthington, and Floyd Lamb of Lexington; sister and brother-in-law Edna and John McMorris of Elizabeth City, NC; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Eldora (Ochsner) Lamb, who died in 1975; granddaughter Leslie Lamb, four brothers; and four sisters.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
