Harold L. Stinson

A graveside service for Harold L. Stinson, 90, of Granville will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W. Broad St., Galloway, OH with the Rev. Mark Pierce officiating.

Harold, a retired District Manager for Goodyear with over 30 years of service, died Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. He was born May 16, 1924 in Delaware County, Ohio to the late Benjamin and Blanche (Elliott) Stinson.

Before settling in Granville in 1974 with his wife, Cora, Harold was a 1942 graduate of North High School and a WWII Army veteran, who served in the Pacific with the 2nd Air Base Operations Section. He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, North High Club, and a 62 year member of Elk Lodge #77 in Circleville. He enjoyed country living, gardening, and golfing. His greatest joy was spending quality time with his family, especially with his granddaughter, Deverre.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Chuck Durrant of Anthem, AZ; one granddaughter and her husband, Deverre and Scot Lierman, and their children, Lexi and Abby of Cary, NC. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Cora M. (VanSteenberg) Stinson, who died October 27, 2013; brothers, Paul, Robert, and Benjamin; and sister, Dorothea Harrison.
