Harriet L. Hayes

A Celebration of Life Service for Harriet L. Hayes, 92, of Granville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville with the Rev. Stephen J. Cramer officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville.
Harriet went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, at the Selma Markowitz Center in Newark, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born June 26, 1915 in Outville to the late Floyd and Edith (Ritchey) Wells.
Harriet was a 1933 graduate of Kirkersville High School. A devoted mother and wife, she farmed with her late husband, Lawrence W. Hayes and raised her family in Granville. She was a member of the Broadway Garden Club, Union Extension Group, Licking County Farm Bureau and Ayudamos Club. Harriet was also a member of Centenary United Methodist Church for over 70 years and was in the Morning Glory Circle.
Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Jean Holman of Newark and Edith and Dale Bowman of Granville; daughter-in-law Shirley Dunaway of Newark; grandchildren Renne (Lee) Sundin, Darrin (Kris) Hayes, Gwynne (Mike) Brunzo, Cheryl Holman, Beth (Pat) Cooperrider, Scott (Kristi) Holman, Laura (Lyle) Muir, and Courtney Bowman; great grandchildren Olivia and Isaac Sundin, Ethan Brunzo, Lindsay and Tanner Cooperrider, Sadie and Kylie Holman, and Matthew Muir; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Wells of Pataskala.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald L. Hayes; one brother, Harmon; and one sister, Frances.
