A graveside service will be held at a later date for Hazel E. Ballard, 92, of Granville, formerly of Chicago, Illinois.
Mrs. Ballard died Friday, January 24, 2014 at SharonBrooke in Newark. She was born December 31, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Carl H. and Frieda (Schuster) Ekloff.
A homemaker, Hazel loved flowers and gardening. She will be remembered as a loving mother and devoted wife who cherished family. Surviving are her children and their spouses: William C. Ballard of Seattle, WA, Donald W. Ballard of Palo Alto, CA, Richard E. and Julie Ballard of Redwood City, CA and Nancy B. and Timothy Hughes of Granville; grandchildren, Sean, Michael (Emma), Stephen, Sarah (Joe), and David (Shannon); great grandchildren, James, Chase, Collette, Vincent, Patrick, Mary Clare, one on the way, Marty, and Evelyn.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, W. Wesley Ballard and two sisters, Catherine and June.
