A memorial service for Jack T. Lytle, 88, of Heath will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, Granville, with Rev. Karen J. Chakoian and Rev. Thom Lamb officiating.
Mr. Lytle passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. He was born July 18, 1919 in Newark to the late C. Frederick and Helen (McNabb) Lytle.
Jack was a 1937 graduate of Newark High School and a 1942 graduate of Antioch College with a degree in Business Administration. During WWII he served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Lytle retired in 1982 from Central Ohio Technical College as head of the Business Division. Prior to this he worked with the E.T. Rugg Company for 28 years as Vice President of Purchasing.
A founding member of the Mound City Little League and Big Brothers and Big Sisters in Newark, Jack was also active civically by serving on the Newark Planning Commission and as an advisor and mentor through SCORE. He served as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Granville. He most enjoyed the 25 years he was able to spend at his cottage in Boothbay Harbor, Maine with his wife.
Surviving are his wife Sara "Sally" (Gates) Lytle whom he married June 26, 1944; sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher Gates Lytle and Sarah J. McCann of Chicago, IL and Mark Williams and Pamelia L. Lytle of Bexley; grandchildren, Jessica Lytle Price and her husband Joshua and Timothy Lee Lytle all of Bexley, Ohio.
