James S. Heininger

A private graveside service will be held for James S. Heininger, 68, of Johnstown, at Maplewood Cemetery near Spencerville, Ohio with Rev. Casey Wilson as celebrant.

Jim passed away April 3, 2020 at his home. He was born in Clarksfield, Ohio to the late Rev. James B. and Nancy Heininger.

A Summa cum Laude graduate of Central State University, Jim studied Theology and Philosophy. Prior to moving to Johnstown, Jim lived in Xenia, Ohio. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially around holidays and birthdays.  Jim was an ardent numismatic and garnered an impressive collection of ancient and rare coins which he took great joy in sharing with his family as gifts at Christmas.  Jim authored multiple thematic volumes of children’s stories featuring Little Lady Lamb’s adventures under the pseudonym Rodney Lakeside Casey.  Jim had a superior intellect and as such, enjoyed trivia games of all types.  He was a proficient chess player and loved music, movies and books. Perhaps the only thing greater than his intellect was his faith; Jim enjoyed the faith of a child and found great comfort in his Christianity.  He lacked any prejudice, condemnation or indignance.  He only saw the good in people and lived life with complete contentment.  And lastly, he had the brightest smile anyone has ever seen.

Surviving are his siblings and their spouses, Amy Lu Heininger, Julie and Jeff German, and Andy and Marie Heininger; nieces and nephews, Katherine, Carol, Sarah, Abigail, Nathanael(Kelly), Gordon, and Samuel and Great Niece Hazel and Great Nephew Jack.
