A graveside service will be held for Janet Margaret Clark Widmer, 88, of Granville, Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville with Rev. Dr. A. Bruce Henderson officiating. Janet died on, Friday, August 17, 2007 at her home at Kendal at Granville. She was born February 28, 1919 in Berkeley, CA to the late Dr. Guy Wendell and Cora Marie (Zellhoefer) Clark. Graduating in 1936 from Pearl River High School, Janet was her class Valedictorian. She was a 1940 graduate of the University of Michigan and then continued her graduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley. Surviving are her daughters, Deborah Ann (Roy) Lewicki, Judith Noel Widmer (Murrey Morrow) and Nancy Jane Freeman; son, Robert James Widmer, Jr. (Terry); grandchildren, Aaron Maxim Lewicki, David Townsend Lewicki, Robert Jay Widmer, Jocelyn Marie Widmer, and Andrew James Widmer; great grandchildren, Cameron, Jason, and James Lewicki. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband Robert James "Jim" Widmer whom she married August 3, 1943; one brother, Thorburn Clark; and one son-in-law Jerry Freeman.
