A memorial service celebrating the life of Jay T. Weaver, 55, of Granville, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville with Rev. Casey Wilson as celebrant.
Jay passed away peacefully Monday, April 10, 2017 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Findlay, Ohio to Phyllis J. (Hendricks) Weaver and the late Fred W. Weaver.
A graduate of Granville High School, Jay was a four year letterman in Baseball and Soccer and was inducted into the Granville High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He enjoyed cross country and downhill skiing at the Granville Golf Course and was a passionate Buckeye and Reds fan. Jay never knew a stranger and was a gifted storyteller who had a great sense of humor, compassion for others, and a free spirit. He will be remembered as a dedicated, loving father.
Surviving are his mother; daughters and son-in-law, Kaylynn Weaver and Mallary and Stephen Meyer; brother and sister-in-law, Todd and Pam Weaver; sisters and brothers-in-law, Teri and Sam Varney and Jodi and Daniel Lavely; nephews, Tyler and William Chiles and Cameron Lavely; and niece, Madison Lavely.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville.
