Jean N. Mason

Jean Neill Mason, 92, died in Newark, Ohio, on February 26, 2017.  She was born in Alliance, Ohio and lived in Columbus and Gallipolis, Ohio.

Jean was married to Roy Newshutz from 1946 until his death in 1980.  She moved to Granville, Ohio in 1984 and was a resident of Granville until her death.  Jean taught French and English at Granville High School from 1984 until her retirement in 1989.  In 1988, she married Robert E. Mason, also of Granville.  They were married until his death in 2005.

Jean is survived by her 3 children, Barbara Swimley, Robert Newshutz, and Patty Newshutz; daughter-in-law, Sue Cox; 3 grandchildren, William, Henry, and Timothy Newshutz; and her sister, Patricia Dawson.

A memorial service will be held April 4, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, in Granville.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
