Jeanne M. Hunt

Jeanne Mae Hunt, 96, formerly of Escondido, California, passed away May 20, 2020 at the Inn at Chapel Grove, Heath, Ohio. She was born in Batavia, Illinois to the late William O. and Irene A. Johnson.

A U.S. Navy WAVES veteran of WWII, Jeanne was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Escondido and also attended Narrow Road Community Church in Heath. Being the wife of a career military officer, Jeanne moved around the country and used her social skills to establish new bonds wherever she lived. She was very outgoing, never met a stranger, and loved playing golf. Her time spent with family was cherished and she also enjoyed a good game of Yahtzee.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Larry Collins; grandchildren and their spouses, Autumn and Chris Jordan, Laura Collins and Mark Dickerson, and Joshua and Shona Collins; great grandchildren, Timothy Collins, and Tom and River Jordan; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas N. Hunt, Jr.; son, Thomas R. Hunt; daughter, Sandra Gonzales; grandson, Tom Cox; and two brothers.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Jeanne’s life.
