Jeffrey "Britt" Thrush, aged 69, departed for his final beachfront sunset on June 6, 2024. Born and raised in Granville, Ohio, Britt traded cornfields for coastlines when he moved to Florida as a teenager, and never looked back.
Britt was the proud father of Brittany and Crescent Thrush, and loving grandfather to Sienna, Simone, and Finn. Reserved but with a sly sense of humor, he had a knack for finding hilarity in life's absurdities. Britt was tender-hearted and complex, but his complexity was part of his charm, and those who knew him best understood the depth of his character.
Britt often pondered the mysteries of the universe with a twinkle in his eye, like an episode of the X-Files. He found intrigue and solace in the unexplainable, despite craving routine and framing his days with comforting predictability.
Simplicity was his mantra, and the beach was his sanctuary. Britt could spend hours with his feet in the sand, watching the waves roll in and out, content in the moment with the soothing predictability of the tides.
Despite his quiet nature, Britt's love for Florida was as loud as a Jimmy Buffett concert. From the bustling beaches to the serene sunsets, he cherished every bit of his adopted home.
In his final moments, Britt embraced the unknown with the same quiet confidence that he had lived his life. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that he has found his eternal beach, where the sun always shines, the surf is always perfect, and not a "snowbird" in sight, maybe exploring the great cosmic mysteries that fascinated him so much. His spirit lives on in family, the memories we hold dear, and with every wave that crashes on the shoreline.
Britt Thrush: artist, beach lover, dad, cousin, friend, grandpa, son, brother, and all-around funny guy, a man who did the best he could.
