JoAnne Inez Ramsay Feb. 16, 1931 - Jan. 4, 2007

A funeral service for JoAnne Inez Ramsay, 75, of Granville was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the McPeek Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville, with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial followed in Welsh Hills Cemetery in Granville. JoAnne was born Feb. 16, 1931, in Newark to the late Zella (Farmer) and Burl Rowe. She spent her last days gathering with loved ones within the Heritage Unit at the Newark Healthcare Centre and died Jan. 4, 2007. After graduating from Newark High School in 1949, she went on to work for the Peoples State Bank of Granville. JoAnne later was employed in the food services for Granville schools and Denison University/Saga. JoAnne was a member of the Christian Endeavor United Methodist Church of Newark. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert A. and Bonnie Ramsay of Granville and Paul J. and Connie Ramsay of Newark; daughters and sons-in-law, Colette and Bernard Goodin of Granville and Laura and Daniel Raber of Baltic; sisters, Wanda May of Stuart, Fla., and Jacquelyn Graf of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Denisha Judd, William Matthew King, II, Kevin and Danielle Raber, Jason and Julie Goodin; eight great-grandchildren, Tommy, Trevor, Alyssa, Bryan, Marshall, Michael, Kobe, and Kaia; sister-in-law, Martha Tavener of Granville; also loved nieces, nephew and relatives up in the country. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Thomas A. Ramsay, who was a longtime Granville resident and died Feb. 5, 2001; infant grandson Baby Paul; infant brother, Gordon; and three brothers-in-law, Charles May, Bill Graf, and William Tavener. Love to all the children whom our mother babysat, which gave her great joy. May her love for children and memories of the ocean comfort her on the journey to the promised everlasting life.
