A celebration of life will be held for Josephine Helen DePue, 73, of Zanesville, at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at First Baptist Church, 80 E. Main St, South Zanesville, Ohio with Rev. David Nuhfer as celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church in SOUTH ZANESVILLE.
JoHelen passed away April 1, 2022 at Altercare in Zanesville. She was born in Amesville, Ohio to the late Leonard and Jospehine.
A retired educator, JoHelen enjoyed a teaching career that included 30 years at Zanesville Public Schools and instructing composition at O.S.U., Newark, Central Ohio Technical College, and Franklin University. She was a graduate of Ohio University with a Master’s in Social Science, where she was a Martha Jennings Foundation Scholar and a former member of Phi Delta Kappa.
JoHelen was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Granville Chapter and a former member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild, Historic Preservation Committee, and Outreach Committee. She was currently attending First Baptist Church in South Zanesville.
Surviving are her brothers, Henry C. DePue and Leonard DePue.
