John Thomas Bizic - dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many passed away tragically on November 8, 2022 at the age of 56 as a result of a work-related incident.
John was born to Rudolph “Rudy” Bizic and Susan Shields Bizic in the Ohio Valley. He graduated from St. Clairsville High School before attending The Ohio State University, where he received a degree in Agricultural Engineering. After graduation, he pursued a career in North Carolina and went on to become a leader and mentor at Murphy-Brown/Smithfield Foods, TriEst Ag Group and Black Gold Farms. Early in his career, he met the love of his life, Donna Goodson-Bizic, and they spent 26 years together as they built their family. Married in 1998, John and Donna, along with her daughter Alexandria Goodson-Jones welcomed two sons and a daughter to the family, Coltin, Brody and Livia. John and his family resided in Lancaster, OH and Columbia NC.
Through the years, John spent his most joyful moments in the sun and near the beach with his family. He always enjoyed listening to a variety of music, spending time outdoors, taking road trips and traveling to visit family, watching true crime and science fiction TV shows and most any sport, especially Cleveland Browns and Ohio State football. John was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life. He was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, church, and community. John’s faith was an essential part of his life. He will be greatly missed by those around him, especially by his family and close relatives.
John recently pursued a career closer to his family in Ohio where he joined The Delong Company as a Facility Manager in Lockbourne. He was a respected leader and well-liked by his colleagues. He valued hard work and exhibited humility and kindness in every aspect of his life, both personally and professionally.
John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, their four children, his three grandchildren (Elijah, Daniel and Austin), three sisters, Laurie Simpson (Jeff) and Holly Bizic (Rita) in Florida, Melanie Schott (Nick) in Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In his memory and support of two of John’s children, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which works to find better treatments, preventions and ultimately a cure for Type I diabetes through critical research.
