A memorial service for John R. Dickinson, III, 55, of Heath will be held Monday, May 23, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home in Granville, 133 S. Prospect Street, Granville with Pastor Bob Long officiating. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.
John died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at his home. He was born Feb. 2, 1956 in Columbus, to the late John R. Dickinson II and Catherine Ann (Williams) Dickinson of Heath.
A graduate of Granville High School, John attended The Ohio State University and was most recently employed by Boeing as an Electronics Technician.
John enjoyed golfing, fishing, professional football, the Buckeyes, and was a classic car enthusiast. He loved music and played in the Granville Marching Band where he was awarded the John Philip Sousa Award his senior year. He also was first chair baritone in the Licking County 4H Band. He also enjoyed coaching his son's various sports teams.
Surviving are his mother; sons and daughter-in-law, Matthew Dickinson of Columbus, Jacob and Cassandra Dickinson of Heath, and Andrew Dickinson of Newark; daughter, Lindsey Taylor of Green Acres, FL; grandchildren, Aiden, Ashten, Maverick, and Emilie; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanne and James Singleton of Montea, VA and Diana and Ray De Pascale of Heath; and brother, Thomas and Kathleen Dickinson of Dayton.
