A graveside service will be held for John R. Jobe, 92, of Peoria, Arizona, formerly of Granville, at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville with Rev. John Girard officiating and full military honors rendered by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Mr. Jobe passed away January 10, 2015 at Arrowhead Hospital in Glendale, Arizona. He was born in Xenia, Ohio in 1922 to the late John O. and Edith J. (Barber) Jobe.
A World War II veteran, John served in the Army Airway Communication Service. He was a 1940 graduate of Granville High School and a member of First United Methodist Church in Sun City, Arizona, F.& A.M. #72 Sun City, Scottish Rite Valley of Phoenix, E.L. Zaribah Temple AAONMS, Phoenix, and was an amateur radio operator, KA8NJH, in Phoenix. He retired as a supervisor in 1980 after a 37 year career with American Airlines.
Surviving are his wife of 71 years Frances L. (Hall) Jobe; daughter, Patricia A. Skomedal of Toledo, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Sandra K. Jobe of Eolia, Missouri; five grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, James R. Jobe; grandson, John Randall; and brother and sister-in-law, Paul H. and Edith Jobe.
