John Robert King
September 7, 1934 — June 21, 2008
A graveside service for John R. King, 73, of Merritt Island, Fla. and formerly of Brookpark, will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Welsh Hills Cemetery in Granville with Monsignor Paul P. Enke officiating.
Mr. King died June 21, 2008 at Barberton Citizen's Hospital in Barberton. He was born in Granville on September 7, 1934 to the late Robert and Helen (Musy) King.
John began his career as a pharmacist and then went to work with Ford Motor Company where he retired in 1989, after 31 years as an engineer.
As a catholic, John was a member of Divine Mercy in Merritt Island and a life member of Knights of Columbus, Newark Council #721 where he was awarded a 50 year pin. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight with Bishop Michael Ready Assembly #830.
Surviving are his sons and daughter-in-law; John M. King of Cleveland and Paul M. and Barbara Julian of Merritt Island, Fla.; daughters, Melanie Falls and her partner Tina Posey of Walton Hills, OH., Teressa Julian-Goebel of Akron, OH; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann (Bias) King who died Jan 19, 2008; one sister and one brother.
